Hoogwaterhuis (High Water House) is one of the unique Guesthouses in the Hangklip and Pringle Bay region providing self-catering accommodation.
If you are looking for self-catering accommodation in Hangklip or just a unique guesthouse in Hangklip and Pringle Bay, Hoogwaterhuis is a great choice.
The house is set on the point of a rocky outcrop of a beautiful bay by the name of Maasbaai on a farm in Hangklip. Built on top of the rocks and constructed using concrete and natural stone the house gives one the impression that you are actually out at sea. On a spring high tide, it appears as though the house is literally surrounded by sea.
The house is elevated and has 360-degree stunning sea and mountain views. It is a beautiful site to watch seagulls sore past from the lounge and balcony areas.
Completed in 1977 over a period of eight years the house is completely hand built and architecturally designed by the owner Ruben Stander a leading Cape Town Engineer who would work on its construction during his weekend visits with his laborers.
